La princesse héritière Élisabeth, âgée de 21 ans, a prêté serment en tant qu'officier à l'École Royale Militaire (ERM). La princesse Élisabeth a prêté serment de "fidélité au roi, d'obéissance à la Constitution et aux lois du peuple belge" sous les yeux du roi Philippe, de la reine Mathilde, du prince Emmanuel et de la princesse Éléonore.
